Inroduction
This first post will just be fun and simple. It seemed like a good idea to do a little more of an introduction than you will find on the blogs intro/description. I have decided to start a blog so that I can put some of my thoughts into words. My hope is that it will encourage others' lives.
10 things that make me really happy:
One: Serving
My favorite way to serve is with children but if I get the opportunity to serve through ANY other way I will gladly take it. Whether it might be serving through scrubbing a toilet or maybe baking a few cookies it is something I love to do.
Two: Piano
The only place I can sit for hours on end and be 100% content. Everyone has their "outlet" and playing the piano is definitely mine. Sitting at the piano is where I can forget about everything that is going on around me and just be still.
Three: Coffee
The more espresso the better, right?! I will admit that I spent way more money on coffee as a broke college student than was responsible. Fun fact: I did not want to take senior pictures in college so I sent graduation invitations with this picture on it. After thanksgiving we had whipped cream left over so I discovered that it is a truly beautiful thing when coffee and whipped cream come together. Try it. You will not be disappointed.
Four: Adventures
Big or small I like them all. My all time favorite adventures range from sonic trips to traveling on air planes to simply being with my favorite people.
Five: Ice Cream
Small (or kiddie depending on the size) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough if you're ever wondering my ice cream order. Frozen yogurt and gelato work too. Just in case anyone is ever wondering.
Six: Snowboarding (and trying to teach Alex how to snowboard)
Pet peeve: "It must be so cold out there on top of the mountain!" ...nope. In fact, if you are dressed right you will probably end up sweating as your shred the slopes. I know how to ski and snowboard but I choose to snowboard 10/10 times. I met some of my best friends on the slopes and I have been friends with these people for 8+ years.
Seven: Puppies
Lady is a 1 year old silver lab (left) and Candy is a 3 year old Foxhound that we rescued this past summer. They have lots of love and even more energy. Feel free to come and play anytime!
Eight: America
Anything patriotic makes me happy. I love America. I follow Trump on twitter.
Nine: Family
Turns out the last time my family took a picture was Christmas 2010. Left to right: Mom, Dad, Cassie, Patrick. These are the people that love me unconditionally even when they don't want to and allow me to practice the same towards them. They are the hardest and easiest to love all at the same time.
Ten: Alex
The cliche part of the post that I know you all were eagerly anticipating. I love this guy with my whole heart. We met and started dating during summer of 2016 then I went back to Kansas to finish my senior year of college. We made it! I moved back to New Hampshire after graduation. Alex proposed September 16, 2017. We are getting married September 1, 2018 in Kentucky. I'm going to have a husband!!
